Then there’s the rut of making the same things over and over. We all get bored with the never ending rotation of meals that we tend to stick with, so I have decided it’s time to try some new and different recipes. Of particular interest are quick and easy recipes that will not leave my kitchen looking as if a bomb went off in there. I will share them here in this blog, along with photos of my furry kitchen assistants, my Corsos Rama, Sassy and Cairo. Since I make their food myself, when I start shuffling about in the kitchen they are usually right there, expecting something to magically appear in their bowls. The sounds of the cutting board or the blender bring them running.
Part of being a mom (to children or dogs) is feeling good about nourishing their minds and bodies. So while I’m in there chopping veggies with a dog sleeping on my foot and another one right behind me, a toddler standing on the step stool so she can see what I’m doing, I am trying to make more of an effort to enjoy these moments. They say the kitchen is often the heart of the home.
I believe “they” are right.
